Christmas lull

We're taking advantage of the quiet time between Christmas and New Years to start packing. The lease is signed and we'll be moving to St. John the Bapist in San Lorenzo around mid-January. Lots of good memories at our St. Alphonus site. Thanks Jean for coming by to help pack today!

Deacons and wives for mission

Today Herb and Peggy Casey and Clement and Gladys Chen came to the Regional Center. They will be working with Maryknoll as part of their charity and justice assignments to the diaconate.

Coming and going

Lots of activity for us before Christmas. Fr. Joe is back from Honolulu where he did a parish mission and met with Steph, our new promoter in Hawaii. Fr. Steve has been down in the Bay Area and brought the Seattle rain with him.

Director.For over 80 years, the Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers have been part of the Catholic Community in Hawaii.  Although Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers no longer staff local parishes and schools, Maryknoll remains committed to helping Hawaii Catholics live out their baptismal call to participate in Christ's mission of bringing the Good News to the world.Maryknoll is very pleased to announce that Stephanie Conching has been appointed as Maryknoll's mission education and promotion representative in Hawaii.  Steph will be a resource to parishes and schools for mission education, and she will facilitate opportunities for the people of Hawaii to engage in mission, particularly through short term mission opportunities.  She will be available to help teachers, youth ministers and catechists better incorporate mission into …

Christmas Around the World Party

We're hoping for a good crowd tomorrow night for the Advent/Christmas party.   The menu:   spiral baked ham, oven roasted potatoes, baby dill carrots, fresh rolls, festive green salad,  and hopefully a wide variety of dessert from different cultures and heritages.   Fr. Bill Boteler will preside and preach, assisted by Deacon Herb Casey.   Bring a story or tradition to share!!!
