For over 80 years, the Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers have been part of the Catholic Community in Hawaii.  Although Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers no longer staff local parishes and schools, Maryknoll remains committed to helping Hawaii Catholics live out their baptismal call to participate in Christ's mission of bringing the Good News to the world.

Maryknoll is very pleased to announce that Stephanie Conching has been appointed as Maryknoll's mission education and promotion representative in Hawaii.  Steph will be a resource to parishes and schools for mission education, and she will facilitate opportunities for the people of Hawaii to engage in mission, particularly through short term mission opportunities.  She will be available to help teachers, youth ministers and catechists better incorporate mission into their curriculum and programs and serve as the link between Maryknoll and the local church.  She will be member of Maryknoll's Western Region for Mission Education and Promotion.

Steph brings a depth of experience and connection to Maryknoll.  She is a teacher at Maryknoll High School, where she offers classes in performing arts and social justice through the Maryknoll charism.  She also coordinates the school's short term mission program for students to go to the Marshall Islands.  Steph is the Religion Education Coordinator for the Manoa-Punahou Catholic Community (Sacred Heart and St. Pius X -- Sacred Heart Parish was formerly staffed by Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers.)

Steph Conching can be reached at Sacred Heart Church, 1701 Wilder Avenue, Honolulu, HI  96822, or via phone at (808) 952-7120, or by email at honolulu@maryknoll.us
